Design and Development of Shrimp Paste Mould
Main Article Content
Abstract
This shrimp paste mould is a newly designed machine which is used to enhance the traditional production of shrimp paste, and this machine has overcome the problem of moulding the shrimp paste traditionally by the hand. This machine is made from polyethylene because it is a semi-automatic process that involves a lever arm, pushing plate and reservoir, thus it produces uniform quality of shrimp paste cubes. It helps to reduce the time of operation, the risk of injury and increase the hygiene, therefore it is suitable for small scale industries. This machine is light, portable and affordable. It is also a sustainable device as it reduces waste, saves energy and also benefits the local economy, so the device is ready for commercialisation. The machine also benefits both producers and consumers, and it may result in a more efficient and sustainable shrimp paste production process. Subsequently, it is a significant improvement in the industry.
