As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  1. Each manuscript can have one or more than one author.
  2. Manuscripts have to be submitted online through AJLP’s website at https://ajlp.mmupress.com.
  3. The submission file must be in Microsoft Word DOCX, LibreOffice/OpenOffice ODT, or RTF document file format.
  4. The manuscript must include:
    1. A title ideally of not more than 15 words. The title must be critical, reflective of the content, and must define content and context of the paper by using proper academic language.
    2. Author’s name and affiliation,
    3. Author’s or the corresponding author’s email address,
    4. Author’s ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID), which can be obtained from https://orcid.org/,

AJLP recommends non-native user of the English language to seek assistance from a professional language editing service if he is not confident with his command of the language.
  8. Manuscript text should be double-spaced, use a 12-point font, and employ italics rather than underline. All illustrations, figures, and tables are to be placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. However, we request that the original illustration files to be uploaded separately for better quality.
  9.  Any quoted piece that exceeds 25 words should be clearly separated from the main text, indented, single spacing and in 11-point font.
  10. The footnotes must be in 10 point font with 1.5 spacing.
  11. Citation referencing is to be done in the footnotes using the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) 4th edition style. Instruction for OSCOLA can be found at https://www.law.ox.ac.uk/oscola.
  12. For materials available only online, a URL is recommended as part of the reference. Where a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is available, please provide the URL for the DOI instead.
  13. Manuscripts should be separated into several sections. Section headings should be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals. One sub-level is allowable, being separated by a period symbol, e.g. 1.1.
  14. At the time of the submission of the manuscript, all authors must consent to publishing the article under an irrevocable Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
