Call for Papers: NexSymp: SNAIL 2026 (1st Symposium on Navigating Artificial Intelligence and Law) (29-30 September 2026)

Multimedia University (MMU) invites submissions to the 1st Symposium on Navigating Artificial Intelligence and Law (SNAIL 2026) under the theme “Generative AI, Agents and the Law.” SNAIL 2026 serves as an international forum for researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, educators, and students to examine the growing influence of artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI and intelligent agents, on law, legal institutions, and governance.
The symposium welcomes high‑quality, original research papers that address theoretical, empirical, and practical issues at the intersection of AI and law. Areas of interest include AI and legal reasoning, AI‑assisted legal practice, data protection and privacy, AI governance and ethics, judicial and administrative applications of AI, human–AI interaction in legal work, AI and legal education, as well as interdisciplinary and domain‑specific applications. Submissions that explore policy implications and real‑world legal challenges are particularly encouraged.
SNAIL 2026 will be held on 29 and 30 September 2026. The symposium will take place in a hybrid format, with the physical/hybrid session hosted at the Faculty of Law, Multimedia University, Melaka, Malaysia on 29 September, followed by a fully online session on 30 September. The full paper submission deadline is 1 June 2026, with notifications of acceptance expected and camera‑ready papers due in August 2026.
All submissions will undergo a peer‑review process. Accepted papers will be considered for publication in the Asian Journal of Law or associated Scopus‑indexed journals, subject to the editorial and review requirements of the respective journals.
