Abstract - ZnTe bilayer thin films were deposited onto soda-lime glass by a thermal vacuum evaporation technique using the NANO 36 thermal evaporator under a vacuum pressure of 2.9 × 10-5 torr. The optical characteristics of the film were measured using an AVANTEX UV spectrophotometer in the wavelength range from 239.534 nm to 999.495 nm. Also, the electrical characteristics of the thin films were investigated using KEITHLEY four-point probe techniques. The investigation of the optical properties of the thin films as-deposited and annealed at different temperatures showed high transmission in the NIR region with good absorption in the visible and UV regions. The extrapolated band gap energies were 2.60 eV and 3.20 eV for annealed and as-deposited samples, respectively.  electrical resistivity decreased as the annealing temperature increases. The images of the film as-deposited and on annealing have a uniform distribution on the glass slides.

Abstract – Vaccination is the best approach in curbing the spread of a pandemic. However, during pandemic one of the challenge is limited number of vaccine due to limited manufacturing capacity and high demand. Therefore, optimal vaccine distribution is needed to ensure maximum effectiveness in decreasing the total infections in the population. In this paper, the vaccine distribution is optimized using sine cosine algorithm improved with mutation (SCAmut). The SEIR model of H1N1 pandemic in 2009 is used as the case problem here. The effectiveness of SCAmut vaccine deployment is studied using two factors, which are vaccine coverage percentage and vaccine releasing time. The algorithm's result is compared with three traditional methods and original SCA without mutation. The findings suggested that the proposed SCAmut is able to provide more effective vaccination distributions better than the three traditional methods and also the original SCA.

Abstract — This paper proposed a voice control based smart home electrical appliances for visually impaired person. This voice control smart home system decreases the time taken for visually impaired person to control their home electrical appliances by giving specific voice command compared to traditional switch or remote control. Besides, the voice control smart home system also contained a mini speaker to provide a feedback audio and ensure the correct electrical appliances were controlled. The implementation of this voice control smart home system provides a more convenient and efficient way for visually impaired person to control their electrical appliances. An experiment was conducted by 50 participants to collect the data of the accuracy of the developed system with testing 100 times voice commands for each participants. The participants achieved 96.74 times correctly on average, with the accuracy 96.74% on this system. 79.33% of the participants agree or strongly agree that would use this system in the future for controlling their home electrical appliances.

Abstract - In the recent outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, various methods has been adopted to prevent and control the wide spread of pandemic. One of the commonly used method is by detecting the body temperature. This is to isolate those obtained higher body temperature who are possibly infected with the virus. Body temperature detection device is commonly deployed at the entrance of merchants for this purpose. However if one person is detected in one merchant with higher body temperature, this information is not bundled with his/her identity information. Therefore his/her entranced to other merchants are not linked and warned, and causing a possible spread of pandemic if other customers who appeared in the same premises are not being notified. In this work, an IoT based body temperature detection system is developed. In this system, the body temperature data is obtained and sent to the internet cloud together with the identity information of that person. This allow easy tracking of the potential virus infected person. The collected data can be further analysed using online analysis tool. Furthermore, the identity information is obtained using QR code which eliminate the ordinary procedure of writing personal data into logbook. The QR code method is contactless and able to avoid the infection of virus through the contact of pen and logbook. This system is developed with low-cost material and is affordable for small merchants.
